A private family residence

Parihar Niwas sits on a gentle slope above the small hill town of Kandaghat, in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. It is a private family residence — not a hotel or a rental — built simply, in the rhythm of the mountains that surround it.

The house looks out across pine-covered ridges that fold into the horizon. Wide windows and a shaded verandah bring the hillside indoors: birdsong at dawn, cool valley breezes through the day, and the deep quiet of a mountain evening.

The design is unhurried and rooted in the region — a pitched red roof, whitewashed walls, timber-framed windows, and a stone staircase climbing to the upper floor. It is a home first, and a welcoming landmark for family and visitors making their way to Kandaghat.
